I bought my Corn Snake yesterday and he traveled in a car for 6 hours. The petstores are all out of pinkies for the snake and it was last fed on last Saturday. I will have the mice by tommarow hopefully. Shouldn't he be fine by tommarow night since he is on a schedule of one mouse a month?
HELP!!!!!!!!!!

For all snakes, after you take them home, they should have about a 4-5 day rest with no handling and definitely no feeding. And a schedule of 1 mouse a month is terrible. It should have one appropriately sized meal once every 5-9 days depending on its age.

No snake's feeding schedule should be once a month unless you have a huge python or anaconda and you're feeding it rabbits. Ok, so maybe an anaconda would still be on a shorter schedule, but my point is that if you give your baby corn snake one pinkie mouse a month it will be very malnourished and possibly dead very soon. Here is some information for corn snakes telling how much and how often they should be eating: http://www.moreptiles.com/feeding.htm. I know it's long, but you need to read it. You also need to find a care sheet for them so you know what else to do in case you were told wrong there also. Good luck and remember......the next time you get an animal do your research BEFORE you get it.

If you're feeding pinkies, the baby should be fed once every 5-7 days. Your young snake will starve to death on one pinkie a month! It can wait until you get another pinky, but I'd up the feeding schedule immediately. Who told you to feed a young baby once a month???? Do some research before purchasing an animal so that you don't kill it thru ignorance!

Don't attempt to feed him just yet. Give him at least 4-7 days to settle into his new home before handling and feeding. Then don't forget to put him in a separate container to feed so he doesn't ingest substrate. Is it a baby? If so, his feeding schedule should be every 5 days--I follow the Munson plan:

The Munson Plan (Sample Feeding Chart)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-When they're on single pinks (2-3g), I feed every 4-5 days. (Snake = 4-15g)
-Double pinks (3g x 2) every 4-5 days. (Snake = 16-23g)
-Small fuzzies (5-7g) every 5-6 days. (Snake = 24-30g)
-Regular fuzzies (7-9g) every 5-6 days (Snake = 30-50g)
-Hoppers (9-12g) every 5-6 days (Snake = 51-90g)
-Weaned (14-20g) every 7 days (Snake = 91-170g)
-Adult (24-30g) every 7-x days (Snake = 170+)
-Jumbo Adults (40-50g) every 7-x days (Snake = 400g+)

Note: Adult females are fed more frequently than adult males (especially following brumation). Females are fed every 6-8 days; males are fed every 7-14 days.

This is by no means scientific, and not all corns will cooperate 100% with the schedule. The weight ranges I gave for the prey and snakes are approximate. I'm very consistent in my feedings. Some people feed every Saturday, for example. If they get a refusal, the snake has to wait for the next Saturday to get another shot. I don't do this. If a snake refuses today, he'll get another shot in two days.

they are going to be positive because they are babys. If the two male, while older they might attempt to combat for territory. yet females are frequently positive at the same time, yet I even have been advised that 2 adult males will additionally do positive. I had 2 females and that they slept at the same time to. in no way had a male cornsnake, yet for now they're going to be positive. you will possibly could ask somebody if adult males combat for territory.
