Would you be opposed to the legal age for driving, drinking, voting and military service being raised nationwide to 22 if in return the Gov't paid for 4 years of college-you would still be considered a dependent until 22?

It is for my Sociology class, I was supposed to get 100 responses-I need 74 more (I asked same ? earlier)-thanks

No, I would not be opposed to that at all. I didn't get my license until I was 19, and even then because I was forced. I dislike driving. I don't care about drinking because I have no desire to get drunk (and a medical condition prevents it from happening, anyway). As for voting, I am completely politically apathetic and don't vote. Military service also does not affect me. I wouldn't mind being a dependent until age 22.

I don't think that rasing the age of driving, drinkin, voting and military service is the answer..... I mean how many children with disabilities would be considered children and dependents, when they could be going out and getting job training and learning how to drive and survive on their own? I personally have a disability and was VERY relieved when my 18th birthday came around... I was already considered a child by everyone and that 18th birthday gave me freedoms I was never afforded before....... I didn't go to college right away because of my disability and how slow a learner I was..... Driving is a very important thing to freedoms that you don't even know that you have until they are taken away.... And voting is something very important to everyone.... I am sure that the government would still take taxes from those kids who were working..... how would that be right? You can work but you can't vote? doesn't work well together.... and instead of teaching responsibility you would be teaching dependence....... College isn't for everyone........

I would be opposed to that. I think the government should pay for education if you maintain a B grade average, and it has nothing to do with driving, drinking or voting.

I would be in agreement if the legal age for driving was left up to the individual states as it is now,
