Slash is the best to walk this earth, but that's beside the point...
I heard that he's being knighted by the queen. Is that right?

Lol, that's news to me.
I doubt it.
[Though i agree, he's fantastic]

Recommend; he's an American citizen now but he was born in England and lived there until he was about 11 years old.
He wasn't an American citizen until the early 90s after the UYI tour.

The point is - he is not.

Listen to the body of work Jimi Hendrix did.
Not just the covers (Hey Joe/All Along the Watchtower), but the originals (Are You Experienced?/Manic Depression, etc.). He was superb, since very few did or were doing what he did in his day? What has Slash done that others haven't - why would deserve a Knighthood?>

When i was little my family used to call me slash, i had a head full of long black hair that was big and bushy like his....That would be sooo funny if he was knighted....just picture it slash standing before the Queen....very surreal... oh yeah i agree with some of the other folks...Hendrix comes before most as far as Guitar goes the man's a legend...

That's kind of an absolute comment on something that is so subjective. you might like him more than other guitarists, but that does not make him the best ever. he is very good, but respect others please

Ritchie Blackmore
David Gilmore
Satriani
Vai
Zappa
Santana
Hendrix
Clapton
Moore
Knopfler
Morse

Don't think he is a knight... why would he be? But than again if he is.... good for him.

No, he's not. He's good, but not the best.

And why would he be knighted by the Queen? Isn't he American?

To Cinnamon Grrrl: I didn't know that. Oh well. Still, he hasn't done quite enough to music to be knighted anyway.
