Yes... it does me. I work nights, and sometimes can't sleep worth a crap. I get to work and have to take a happy pill.

I get cranky when I know I can have a chance go back to sleep soon & someone or something is stopping me from doing it. However if I have to work, knowing there is no chance of going back to sleep soon, I just soldier on without being cranky but I will be fairly untalkative.

Yes lack of sleep makes you very cranky, You lack concentration and patience and you become easily irritated by small things depending on the amount of ,,or lack of sleep you have and how often you do it. It can be really apparent in people who dont have a regualr sleep pattern

A lot of the things already mentioned on here can at times begin to get to me, but there's one really big thing that seems to get to me more than anything else... I am so sick & tired of being -- SICK! I'm so tired of going through all of the horrible testing, having most of the money that comes into our household going right back out in my medical expenses, & seeming to be nothing but a burden on my family lately... (If they even knew I felt this way, they'd throw a fit!), but no matter what, I can't help but feel this way sometimes. I push & push, but I can't get any better no matter what I, or the doctors do. I am a True Believer, & am on every Prayer List around, & I work so hard at keeping my Faith up, & fight so hard to keep any negative thoughts from overpowering me... But it's taking everything I can muster to continue doing this. This is what's making me cranky! Then when I allow it too, the guilt overwhelms me, which makes me even crankier!!.....

Yes, it's the only thing that makes me cranky. Try 100 mg of 5-HTP before bed, it's supposed to counter the effects of a short night of sleep leaving you feeling fully rested in the morning.

Lack of sleep = increased irritability, less patience = mood changes. It's a natural phenomen. The more tired that a person is, the less tolerance that may be present. A good night's rest is important for more than one reason. It makes our immune system stronger, less irritable and, more readily able to take on the day.

Dear
change your question as everyone else. not any one else?
Sleep is required in the night, when there is no sunlight.
Sunlight gives us all the energy to do work, plan and execute things.
In the night when there is no sunlight, we are supposed to take more rest and renew ourselves right from early morning.
Unfortunately the civilized world wakes up to late nights, and does not wake up before sunrise.
Thus we are foregoing lots of energy given by sun and becoming lazy and useless people. we are getting many ill health problems mainly because of this.
That is why if sleep is disturbed, we are becoming deployed of our capacities. Sleep in the day time can never compensate sleep required in the nigght.

Yes, it does. Lately it's making me tired. I worked early mornings (5am) the whole weekend (since Friday) and tomorrow I have to be in at 9am. [I'm so tired] Tuesday is my day off and I'm planning to sleep in. If anyone even calls me on the phone and wakes me, it'll take a big effort for me not to s#it on their mother. So there you have it. That's how no sleep makes ME cranky. Peace to you.

Cranky aint the word . I envision my lack of sleep demeanor similar to a bear just coming out of hibernation.
