In case you didn't notice, two questions are hidden in one: Which is the best chipset manufacturer and second, which chipsets for the Intel's Core 2 processor is the best one.

Apparently, competition is tight between Intel or nVidia.

My most stable systems have always been Intel Chipsets.

intel and via seem to be the best sis is probably worst but amd and ati are also real good as is nvidia

Ideally, intel would be the best to run their own product...but this may not actually be true. I personally have an nVidia 680i.
