Before you had your baby what do you wish you would have known?
For example, something you wish you would have brought with you to the hospital, something you wish you would of asked for/about, something you would have tried/done differently?
I'm being induced tomorrow and just wondering about last minute stuff (am I forgetting something, is there something I need to remember to tell the nurses/ask for...?)
Any thoughts from personal experiences would be great. Thanks so much!

I wish I would have tried to go through labor naturally. I went into the hospital not in that much pain, and when they checked me I was at 7 cm, I know they won't give you any pain meds after that so I asked for the epidural, and chances are I could've done it no problem without it.

I also wish I would have enjoyed the time in the hospital a little more. No where else can you ask for chicken soup at 3 in the morning or ice water, without at least some slight complaint. Those nurses where wonderful - and be sure to let them know how greatful you are for them. Even though it is their job, it's always nice to feel appriciated.

Good luck tomorrow, and the number one thing is to try and stay calm as much as possible, the more tense you are the harder the labor.

I had my third baby 5 days ago. I did something very different this time that I feel greatly improved the experience. We called NOONE until AFTER our daughter was born. My husband was there adn my other 2 children were there(until delivery-my oldest is 13 so quite capable of minding the 19 month old). I feel that because there was noone else there, my husband was able to concentrate on what was going on and to help me cope. Because of this I managed an unmedicated delivery. If there had been family there, he would have been distracted, they would have been wanting his attention and he would not have been teh WONDErFUL support he was to me.

I really wish I had known it would be that way before my first two were born.

I wish I would have taken more pictures (before & after) and I wish we would have remembered to bring in the video camera. Other than that, I think we had everything else pretty much set!

You may want to bring some warm socks and your own robe. Also, maybe your own pillow if you don't sleep well. If you can have someone get you some preggie pops for the dry mouth too. Apparently they work wonders!

Bring a beanbag wrap or something that you (your partner) can heat up in the microwave to ease your labour pains.

Good luck!!
