I think retired people who have hobbies, intellectual interests, and/or activities that they enjoy, tend to enjoy retirement. It can get very boring otherwise.

I think many people, who had a job they really liked, might say that working was better that retirement, if your health is good, They might add that retirement is a good second choice, if you find things to do.

I think it must depend upon how much they enjoyed their life-work!! I LOVED the work I did for the last 21 yrs--worked with very troubled adolescents! Retired at 66, nannied my first Grandson and loved that, but now retired/retired for two yrs, REALLY miss the work I did with the adolescents!!!! Retirement, to me, is an artificial construct in order to get us out of the work force!! I can't really find ANY thing that makes up for it!! My Grandchildren are WONDERFUL--but that's only for a few hrs/day!! BUT, sure miss being in the "fray" with those back-talkin'-teens and watching them "find themselves"!!!

some do, some don't. generally if they don't they just go get another job. be gentle, it's hard for people to know how they will feel about things in advance (ie some people think they will love their jobs then don't or will love having a baby then don't etc.)
i know lots of retired people. it's a mixed bag, but they can always choose to have another job.

only boring people are ever bored so people who enjoy retirement truly know the value of time and appreciate having more of it on their hands. they know how to live when other people are only squeeking by

depends on how much u saved up. people who saved up a lot end up traveling a lot and the others who don't save as much end up just do nothing and regreting y they didn't save up as much. but it gets boreding as some of my friends told me. theres isn't much to do if u don't have a group of friends to be with.
