Don't you have to live in California or New York in order to audition for any roles in anything?

Or where ever the show airs or something like that.
Just asking because its been in my head.

Not where the show airs but where it is filmed. What you need is an agent to get you an audition. You and the agent both need to be where the filiming is being done.

Most auditions happen in the theatrical centers--New York, LA, Chicago, SF, North Carolina, Orlando, Minneapolis.

It doesn't matter where you live so long as you can relocate there to perform the part if you get one.
