Go into the BIOS and you should be able to reduce the amount of memory that is stolen from system RAM.
Reducing it to about 4 or 8 MiB should be helpful if all you ever do is run 2D applications (there's no point in having 256 MiB on a card as crap as integrated cards anyway).
Though you won't be upgrading it to a better card without buying a new laptop so you're just going to have to accept that some of your RAM will be stolen for use by the video chip (although if you want to spend money more RAM would be a good idea).

Your video card needs shared RAM to work because it's motherboard-integrated and doesn't have it's own video RAM. The only solution would be to buy a better video card that has it's own RAM

go in BIOS, and change the amount of RAM ur VGA card is usin. Then if it doesnt work, buy new PC. Trust me man, New PCs are alot more better than Boring Mac.
