If you are using a work cited page I know you can use the last name of the author of the website and if there is no author I'm guessing you put the site.
Ex. (http://fsmitha.com)

If you know the author of the website, then your inline citation would be (Last Name, First Initial). If you don't know the author of the website, then the inline citation would be (Title of Webpage) - NOT the website address, just the title.

Well you can create a footnote at the bottom of the page and just place a footnote number above where you want to cite it.

The same way, as a foornote, being sure to include the "www.xxxxx.com, org, whatever" so the reader can go there to verify.
Its not a bad idea to write a letter and ask permission, as some websites won't let you reproduce their data, it is copywrite protected, so be careful, plagarism is still in effect.

The easiest way is when you are typing (into the computer) to highlight the web address as:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/;_ylt=AgVT3lu38bQgfGVhqSRDT.TExQt.;_ylv=3?link=answer&qid=20071125165516AArMnzg
do the CTRL C then CTRL V in you research paper. Your teacher/professor should have informed you how HE/SHE wants it.
