The UoP is regionally accredited just like all the other "real schools" in the US but their reputation isn't so great. Many people consider them among the lowest of colleges in the US. But, they are real and not a scam.
Just like McDonalds is a real restaurant; you just don't go there for a steak dinner. You go to UoP to get a diploma but it's not exactly the same education you'd get at Harvard or YourState U.
There are many better options available to you for education online. Places like UMass, CalState, Florida State, and probably the state u. and community college where you are.
I use this search tool http://www.petersons.com/distancelearning/code/search.asp to look for legitimate and well respected online programs. I highly suggest you do some research about all of your options. You'll be amazed at the quality of education you can get while staying home. It's not the easy way though - it will still take a lot of time and hard work.
note: turn off the caps lock on your keyboard (left side, says "Caps Lock") it makes your writing hard to read.

UOP does not have professional accreditation for many of its majors, in particular its very popular MBA program. The MBA program is considered "MBA Lite" for its low level of instruction.Approximately 95% of UOP faculty are part-time compared with an average of 47% across all universities, with most holding full-time day jobs. The nursing program is one program at UOP that is considered to be good. I would not attend UOP. There are other options such as state colleges/universities that have night classes.

The reputation is not so great because of the avg. graduate quote and because it's a bit overpriced compared to state universities. :(
You might wan to check out some more colleges and get additional information on this topic:

university of phoenix is rated #1 for online schools. my brother is doing it right now. and he loves it. after two years they ask that you transfer to a real school for a four year degree. but its a good school not a scam.
