Yes! I do! The only mean ones I met, had mean owners.
Most of the ones I've met were really sweet and remained "Puppies" for all their years. When my fiance and I first got together, he had two rotties, who were extremely sweet. They loved me! That's how he knew I was a good woman to start! They weren't nice to everyone, including his first son's mother!
They are a good dog to have, if you treat them with love and respect. They are very protective of their owners, and usually, the owners "puppies"[read: Children]. Their coats are easy to maintain. You just have to have enough money to keep their big butts fed when they become adult dogs.
Edit: That is NOT true to the person below me. If you have another dog who is good around other dogs, and you get the rottweiler as a PUPPY, it will get along with that other dog. Shelby was awesome around other dogs to hear my man tell it, and he wouldn't lie about his puppies!

I have over my life owned several breeds of dogs. MOST of them being mutts. BUT my best and favorite was my Rotti. He died October 5Th of this year. He was 12 years old. He was by far the best dog I have ever owned. And I kind of adopted him when he was about two years old and someone dumped him on my front door steps half dead. I treated him and he stayed by my side the rest of his life. VERY protective over my old lady, but he was my dog. He was protective of my home and kids as well. But he thought he was a lap dog. Very loving and affectionate I will also say that ANY dog is what it is brought up to be. It doesn't matter what breed the dog is. And I must say that this Rotti was a male and he did have another dog with him in his kennel during the day. They got along very well.
MamiZ's anwer is right on the money.

Yes, I do like them. & Yes, I recommend them to owners who want protection and who love big dogs!
Before I was even born, my dad had a rottweiler, so i guess you can say I got one as my first pet.
He also had a rottweiler mix.

They are nice dogs. fat and ever so cute as puppies, when they get bigger they can be a bit vicious at times, like all dogs. I had one, not my first dog though, but he got put down a few years ago for biting someone. Never replaced him.

i recommend that if you only want one dog get a rottweiler because your gunna go through hell and back if you have a rottweiler with another dog. because that type of dog has issues with other dogs especially if the rottweiler is a male.

When trained correctly they are WONDERFUL pets! We had one, her name was Sugar. She would walk side by side with my husband while he cut grass, she was house broken, she was a big baby! We loved her.
