Gray is the American spelling, and grey is the british spelling. They're both acceptable in writing, so use whichever you feel most comfortable with.

Americans spell it gray except when they imitate the British grey, which is a Standard variant.

Grey Is The Normal English version.

People from the UK spell it GREY and people from the US spell it GRAY.

It depends on where you're from. Gray is American and grey is British. I'm American and I use grey though. :]
