Remove ugly film in narrow-necked glass jars, flower vases, and bottles by letting undiluted white distilled vinegar sit in them for a few hours. Add a little rice or sand and shake vigorously to loosen stubborn stains. Repeat if necessary.

you can put 1/2 cup salt or baking soda + 2 cups warm water. put something over the top to seal it shut (cellophane wrap or press and seal wrap) then shake shake shake. Rinse, then dip into sinkful of 1 gallon very hot water + 1 cup white vinegar to dry quickly and prevent spotting.

You should not have to take it anywhere to have it cleaned

If you cannot find a brush, soaking in soapy water and swirling uncooked rice in some soapy water in it will help

If you need to clean the inside, buy a bottle brush that will fit inside of it. Use a gentle dish detergent in warm water.

If it fits in the bottom of your dishwasher put it on the bottom rack. I do that with my vases all the time...even the Chrystal ones.
