They should be on a even keel but that's in a perfect world. My experience has been. Friends are usually looking for what they can get out of you. They eventually cost you something monetarily yes. Sad but true. That's a generalization. Their is always exceptions.

Friendship should be about respect, caring, trust, and fun not money. It is up to you however how you are going to let people treat you. Don't foot the bill next time don't stay on the phone that long with your emotionally draining friend. You need to insist on being treating right.
People will only treat you as bad as you let them.

friendship shouldn't have to cost a thing.if you're paying at every get together then you need to be by yourself.and it should ALWAYS be on an even keel.and if they get mad at you for saying no you won't pay, then get in your car and leave thay were not your friends to begin with.

I dont think That having friends ahould cost you, but sometimes ppl who you may think are your friends really aren't, pick your friends wisely so they shouldn't cost you anything.
