On a world scale, I would say Diana's. One reason was the accessibility of immediate information due to the increased media and abundance of technology. We also have more shock media, so it was milked for all it was worth, and still is. In it's time, though, JFKs death would have really shocked the western world.

Definitely JFK. The thought that one lone nut could just shoot down the President of the United States of America was devastating;some people still don't believe that that was what happened. JFK was well respected throughout the world.
