They usually do let it interfere...anyway...what they can TRY to do is be professional, notice when they are slipping and correct it, have their own therapist, seek help from colleagues when they notice difficulty in maintaining a professional manner. This doesn't mean coldness, just not letting their personal life impinge on the client's therapy. I'm sure it's difficult but they chose this profession so they need to do it.

Therapists need to keep in mind that their professional career and their clients may suffer if they cannot separate the two.
Personal is personal keep that different from work.
