It is quite rare yes. Globally the rate of circumsizion is around 15% and in 100 years that will have reduced to a miniscule percentage.
Exceptions to the rule are the USA, and also parts of Africa, where circumsizion has increased because they have such poor hygiene facilities in Africa (and have so much unprotected sex - and hence AIDS).
Otherwise, most guys's penises are kept naturally intact, and only a few have hygiene issues with their foreskin.
Just maintain a good standard of hygiene - not just with your penis but your whole body. Each day in the shower though, pull your foreskin down and wash the helmet, the shaft, the whole unit! Only takes 5 seconds. Good luck, Dubliner :-D

Circumcision is still practiced in the US, the Philippines, and South Korea but is dropping rapidly in popularity. Israel and Muslim areas of the world circumcise nearly all infant boys for religious reasons. Japan, most of non-Muslim Asia and Africa, Europe, and Latin America rarely circumcise now; if you were to take the same survey among young boys in Dublin, the rate iwould be much lower than what you found in college. Australia has recently outlawed circumcision for non-medical reasons in most public hospitals.

I wouldn't say it's "rare" perse, because even in countries where it's not regularly practiced, like the UK, the percentage of men who are circumcised can be around 10 percent or so. Which definitely makes them the minority, but also not really rare. But yes, the majority of men in the world are not circumcised and it's seen as fine and normal. The only countries that practice circumcision routinely on males, are the US, Israel, Muslim nations, and the Phillipines. Guess who introduced circumcision to the Filipinos by the way? You guessed it, Americans!

With the exception of Korea (due to the American influence after the Korean War) and some African countries (in a misguided attempt to control the spread of Aids) the USA is the only country where a majority of males continue to be circumcised for other than religious reasons.

No, if you consider the the entire Islamic religion circumcises, and Australia it runs 15%-50% depending on region, its still popular in Canada and gaining ground in Europe (especially inlight of all the proof of over 60% decrease chance of catching STD's and HIV if you are circumcised)!

In your continent, it's rare, except for Jewish males, Middle Easterners and Asians also circumcise, so it's you, South Americans and Australians who are rarely to circumcise.
And by the way it's much healthier to do so, I am so sorry for some answers here from folks that attacked us Americans for being healthy!
