I have the crucial ballistix ram 2gb 6400 already installed in my motherboard. My friend recently gave me 1 gb of ocz gold revision 2 6400. I was wondering if I can add in the new 1 stick of ocz with my crucial rams. I read somewhere that they have different timings too.

It might work.
However normally it is a good idea to stick with the same brand and in some cases with some computers it is recommended to used matched pairs.
If your computer is newer it may or may not work you will just have to try it.
I will say with crucial Ram you have made a good choice it is the best there is.

Buyer Beware in LATIN? anybody???
It may work but it's much more complicated now than 10 yrs. ago when all you had to worry about is the slower 20 ns. speed ar maxing out of range. I forgot all the Gotchas but stick w/ a good retailer to match RAM and good manufacturers like Cruciable , Kingston, or whatever TigerDirect or NewEgg advertizes. Happy Shopping and Computing
