Or does it end up on the goalies stats?
It would still have to count as a shot on goal right? There'd have to be a save stat given somewhere.

If the player stops the puck in the crease between the posts, the goalie gets credited for the save

You mean a shot on goal? Yeah, the goalie gets the credit.

if the player stops it in the crease, counts as a goalie save and a shot on goal.

If it hits a player outside the crease then it is considered a
blocked shot for that player.

He gets credited with a blocked shot, and it does not count as a shot on goal.

Good question. I was wondering the same when Lindstrom & Lilja recently blocked some shots for Detroit.
