Your question has the answer in it. Psychology is a science, philosophy is, well, philosophy.

A more detailed answer is that philosophy is just people's thoughts on stuff. Psychology uses empirical data to reach its conclusions. It used to be that psychology wasn't much different from philosophy though since much of it was subjective thoughts and opinions. Sigmund Freud and psychoanalysis are a great example. Psychology didn't start to become more founded in science until the behaviorists came into play. Their philosophy was that subjective interpretations are useless and that the only way true conclusions that we can make in psychology are those reached through empiracal observation. B.F. Skinner is a prime example. Modern psychology is a mix of the two extremes. The philosophy today is that introspection is not valid in and of itself, but ignoring it cripples psychological research (we are trying to study the mind after all, and there's only so much you can learn from observing people's behavior).

Philosophy is more like ideas. It has ties to human nature and society.

I look at it this way: philosophy is the study of concepts and psychology is the study of human nature... if that makes any sense.
