Am I wrong?

My man gave me a cheap engagement ring that cost less than $100. I'm so good, I deserve better. Should I make him get me a more expensive one?

Oh, all right. Thanks for all the advice, but you all are over 5 years too late with it. We got married a couple months after we got engaged in 2002. I just wanted to post this so other gals who whine about the engagement ring being so affordable would see how childish they are.

P.S. My wedding was $400 total.

Have you thought about why? your Boyfriend bought you a Ring that as you say"is Cheap." Could it be because he might not been able to afford one that cost More? The Ring, here is not important what is important is the Love you both have for each other, and the step you are going to take when you both get Married. Being compatible and caring for one another is the most important thing right now. I have been Married for 49 years, and am hoping to celebrate our 50th. next year, God willing. When my Husband and I decided to get married, He bought me a Gold Wedding ring, that had cost him $10.00, and I did not argue or told him that it was a cheap Ring, The Ring did not matter, what mattered was the Love I saw in his eyes for me. I still have the same Ring and I have never taken it off, when we had been Married for five years my Husband wanted to buy me a Diamond Ring, but I refused I told him I was going to wear this Ring until we celebrated our 50th. wedding Anniversary, I have never taken it off, not even to do my chores around the house. So, it is up to you if you want to tell your Boyfriend about the Ring or not it's your choice.

What is the financial situation?
If it is dire, then take it -- discuss it with him and let him know that when you get on a better financial footing, that you would like a better ring.
***When my husband and I married we were both sooooooo broke and no decent credit to speak off - I got no engagement ring, but later on an anniversary years later - I got two carats -- really nice cut. But we discussed it way back then.

But, if he has the money and not buying one, then that is a hint that he is cheap. If he is that cheap, and you are not, this will only cause problems that will end in divorce.
More people divorce over finances in the first few years of marriage, than anything else.

First of all, is he financially able to do so? If he's CEO of GM, then yes he's being cheap. If the poor guy is working two jobs just to pay the bills and keep the lights on in the house, then consider yourself lucky. You sound like you're rather materialistic and you might consider what's more important to you; a guy that lavishes you with gifts but cheats on you and emotionally treats you like a bag lady or some poor smuck that spends what he can on you and emotionally treats you like a queen? If all you're concerned with is how much money the guy spends on you, do him a favor and split because he deserves better. Have you considered he may be testing you to see whether you love him or his money?

You sound greedy... be glad he gave you one at all.. its not the cost of the ring, its the thought counts... You'd only make a fool out of yourself if you asked for something more expensive...
If you did, he just might have second thoughts about marrying you.. You might be too high maintenence for him..
Be happy with what you have and quit being greedy...........
