Hello I was just wondering, when I sell my bearded dragons(not trying to be cruel, just need more little kid friendly non scratching animal) what reptile should I get? I have had much experience with reptiles, so don't say best beginner's pet or anything. Would anything else besides a leopard gecko due? I only want suggestions from experienced herpers, not the "I heard so and so makes good pets" people. If you have any suggetions, could you give me a full care guide? Thanks for all the help!

Are you looking for a lizard specifically or just any herp? I would suggest a ball python, they don't get very big and have the best temperament of any snake I have ever dealt with and I work at a zoo with many species of herps. Every now and then I have heard of people getting ones that are a little nippy, but none of mine have ever even hissed at me let alone struck at me. Just make sure you get one that is captive bred as opposed to wild caught. I have a feeling that the nippy ones are ones that were caught in the wild. They are relatively hardy animals and easy to care for. This website will tell you basically everything you need to know about their care: www.kingsnake.com/ballpythonguide/ Hope this helps, good luck in your search.

Yeah a lepard gecko is great only you would need to handle it so it can get used to you holding it. While they are babies they probably wont like being handled though as you may know they tend to hiss and some even try to bite. I recommed using a gardening glove and then it will reduce any harm for you and the reptile. Turtles are pretty cool too but they dont do very much and sometimes they get stinky? Corn snakes stay fairly small and if you get the right one you can hold it.

I felt an similar way earlier I were given my little toddler. even if the feeder crickets do not hop or make any noise. they're completely basic to safeguard them. I surely have them in a small bath that used to have butter in it. i purchased cricket nutrition/water/diet cubes that do each little thing to intestine feed the crickets. All I surely ought to do it placed some crickets primary into her aquarium. Crickets are the biggest element it truly is positive feed on your gecko. the biggest element about having a lizard is being waiting to feed stay nutrition. in case you cant try this than perchance the gecko isn't the right animal for you. i desire this facilitates, and all the different solutions have nutrition which may be fed each once and a lengthy time period. purely crickets will be fed as a significant nutrition.

Bearded dragons are THE MOST kid friendly and non scratchy reptile out there. If you you're finding them to be too much for kids to handle, you aren't going to find anything easier.
