I don't consider myself a psychic, but I've had very detailed precognitive visions years in advance of some events.
The night before I went to my mother's one time, I wrote to my buddy that I felt something was going to happen to my mom and there would be nothing that I could do. With this fear, I went to my Mom's the next day and she had fallen w/no explanation that afternoon. From there, her condition worsened and in about a month, she died. (had to do w/ cancer) I had previously seen the time of death psychicly.
Many things are difficult to remember when seen far in advance and in not knowing if the vision is a true vision. Imagine trying to recite all the scenes from a movie that you saw two years ago.. get the picture?
Also imagine always knowing what would be happening next.. wouldn't it drive you a little nutty? When I realized I was getting psychic visions, I had minor fits of hysterics. Can the mind really cope well w/all that info? If you had that ability, wouldn't you feel a life of pressure to do something about everything all the time? This is why the psychic mind may filter things out.
I've seen a number of tragedies in advance. Later in time, as after 9/11 there seemed an effort to create such websites, I've signed up w/2 psychic sites to report these visions if needs be. Haven't seen anything lately. Sometimes, I think there's an intervening spiritual uh..agency? that stops me from having visions to report from so that I don't have influence. Maybe some would say this is God's way.. hehehe (I'm not religious)

Who says they aren't?
A good psychic also necessarilly has good intuition.
Even the phonies are essentially good instant "readers" of personality traits, so they have good intuition about a person just by meeting them.
But there are also different types of psychics. Some can pick up on personal auras, some are mediums (who get info from dead spirits), some can pick up on visions from objects, etc. But none are "god" and see everything.
The only one who sees everything is Patrick Stewart, in his screenplay where he has superpowers that can undress women just by thinking about it. (As explained on "Extras, Season One".)
All other psychics get only tidbits of information. And it could be that the information about themselves that you would think they should know, it's actually of little importance in the grand scheme of things... so they don't even notice it.

It all depends upon how much you are allowed to see. What was explained to me and I also see that someone else noted we are to learn things on our own just like any other person. Also if you know everything that is going to happen, it makes things quite a bit dull. Than one little thing can come along to change it. I don't advise people about things nor do I tell them things outright unless I feel I really need to. People have a hard time accepting that and I don't believe in forcing that on people. I also won't tell people things just because they want to know, because just like me they have to learn on their own. I will warn, and I have had others tell me next time they will pay heed to my warnings later, but I am unobtrusive about it. Also sometimes what I see is years in advance, and it may only be a possibility. I know how my path lies and its long and hard, but I chose this path for a reason. Its a gift and nothing more, and it isn't always easy, and most of those that market their abilities are not true pyschics. I prefer to just not get that bad rap, and focus where I need to be focused. My family and friends whom I'm suppose to watch and guard.

My wife used to believe in psychics when she was in her teens. Her and her girl friends would go to see one at least once a month. One time they got to the psychic's house and there was a note on the door that said "Sorry, I had to leave. My mother broke her hip, had to take her to the hospital."
My wife and her friends finally saw the light, that if a psychic couldn't even have predicted that her own mother was in danger, she was probably bullshit.
I've always wondered why psychics don't win the lottery.

psychic thoughts are caused when your consciousness is allowed to tap into future events by 'master spirits'. when we die we go to seven planes of renewal and come back again as a new person to learn new things, the whole meaning of life is to learn new things, that is why some people are rich/poor, tall/short etc. we will all experience everything and we are looked after by master spirtits.
to go back to the question, master spirits do not allow us to see things regarding ourself because we need to learn life on our own and not know which route is best to take
if you are interested there is a great book calle 'many lives, many masters' which goes into detail about this.

most Psychics will tell you it is because they are to close to their own problems to get a true reading. truth is they always get some form of message at all times & some can't siphon through it. others get simple messages like move left & when they do the save them selves from getting hit by a car or truck or bit by a dog & so on!

According to both stories of Nostradamus and Edgar Cayce; they both did psychic evaluations on themselves. Nostradamus predicted his death and Edgar Cayce about curing his health issue.

Who said that they aren't psychic about theirselves? If you haven't heard them say so doesn't mean it doesn't happen. If you know of a psychic personally, ask them. Could be that they just don't like to talk about theirselves.

Hello Anthony
Those Darn Emotions!
When you are strongly emotionally linked to a subject it is hard to make a link.
With another you can be objective, not get involved - with yourself that, at times, is not possible.
