What's going on with my body? I'm 39 weeks, 3cm, lost mucus plug few days ago, had red bloody show today, and PAINFUL contractions 6 min apart all night. I went into hospital sure that I was in labor and the nurse had me walk around. After walking, my contractions spaced out and became 10min apart. She sent me home saying there braxton hicks. The problem is, that these hicks hurt alot and there not just uncomfortable. Ive had two girls and know what a contraction feels like and these hicks are very similar. Has this happened to anyone else and what is the deal here?

If walking around at home doesn't slow things down like it did with the nurse, and you are not getting any rest at all with the pain, you may want to think about going back to the hospital. Start keeping a documented note of the contractions, so that you can show the nurse when you do go back in. It does sound as if things are moving along, and after two previous pregnancies, you know your body better than she does. Go back to the hospital if you are at all worried, trust your instincts. All the best.

I have never had to deal with b/h or contractions since i am only 16 weeks but my sister is 30+ weeks and tells me that b/h dont hurt... they just make your tummy tighten and contractions hurt and hurt all around your belly even into your back...

but if they slowed down after walking i would say it isnt time yet but sounds like it will be really soon....
