When you started college did you establish what you hoped to do as your life's work? So your parents had enough money to send you for a Master's degree in Economics ? Had you thought then what you hoped to do for your life's work? School was a nice safe place where you didn't have to face the world? You might as well go for your doctorate and blow the whole wad.The extra year or two might lead you in the direction of a career.
