and he says he can't live without the "rush" from shooting up. Why not?

Like when you're on a roller coaster! It's kind of the same thing I guess. Someone told me it's like bungee jumping. That's why there are drug addicts and then there are the thrill seekers. Similar "rush".

Meth is HORRIBLE. Take from a recovering addict. (not from meth though I have tried it unfortunately.) The *rush* feels like ...you've drank about a million Red Bulls only MUCH WORSE. He SHOOTS UP? Even worse. Well, when he comes down from his high, he will go into withdrawal and go through major Hell (DT's) and could probably die without it or go into a coma. He's an ADDICT. I'm so sorry for your friend. Try to get him some help. It's very hard, but please try.

It's the worst of the addictions..I cannot...well I won't tell you about any rush or how it feels.....At this point he is addicted and he keeps looking for that first rush..that he will never find.
Be a good Friend...talk him into going into a Detox Center and help regain control..because he has none right now...And no matter what...do not let him pull you in...misery loves company!!!!!

It's a wave of feeling that washes over you. Can affect the body, mind or both depending. Can get it from stimuli outside of drugs as well, but often those situations are accompanied by the body's own secretion of chemicals like dopamine.

Some drug dependency is linked to individuals seeking replacement for their own internal chemicals' effect.

That's addiction. They feel unable to live without the drug, while each time they use it, it does something to their insides - including the brain. He doesn't want to live long.

he's physically addicted... sucks for him... it's hard to stop taking drugs when your body will kick your butt if you don't.. best of luck to him...

I don't know what a rush is, but it's probably a pretty darn good feeling!

its awesome. It feels like having no money to your name, all your teeth and hair falling out, your skin turning dark and ugly, your heart beating 1000x faster than it should be, sometimes it feels like being locked up in prison, or even dying. Your friend is a smart one, that's for sure.

its an intense feeling that flows through your body making you feel great for a brief period of time.

meth kills and is very addictive because people get used to that feeling because they feel good. its almost too late to help your friend unless he goes to a health clinic for drug treatment.
