THE COIN IS BRONZE IN COLOR OF METAL AND HAS A SWORD THAT MEASURES TOP TO BOTTOM OF 4" AS WELL. THE FRONT OF THE COIN HAS A PERSON RIDING A HORSE WITH A LONG STICK IN RIGHT HAND AND SMALLER SWORD IN LEFT HAND AND IS PUSHING LONG STICK INTO PERSON ON GROUND WITH A MASK WITH 2 HORNS FROM THE TOP OF HIS MASK,, THERE IS A ARMOR WITH AQ CROSS THE THIS , THE HORSE HAS A SHORT TAIL AND NO DECOR ON IT. PLEASE ADVISE WHAT KIND OF COIN THIS IS AND THE YEAR ON THE COIN IS 1242. THANK YOU VERY MUCH JUDY

I don't believe what you are describing is a coin. If you scan a photo and send it to telovelace@sbcglobal.net I can probably tell you what it is. In 1242AD I know of no place that used a Christian date on their coins. An Arabic date of 1242 corresponds with 1827AD, but the writing and date would have been written in Arabic. Looking at the script should give me a clue to its origin.

Type into google search engine translator or go to altavista.com and click on babelfish. This should translate the meaning of the phrase on the coin. I think the language on the coin is Russian. Not sure of that though.
