Noah built the ark and there was 2 of every single species in the whole world so every single animal type x 2.

Moses did not need an arch because he could spread the waters and walk through them or ride a donkey through I think. Spreading the waters had not been perfected during Noah`s time so he had to build an arch. I believe it would have been more practical to have let all the animals die and then just had his good buddy God take a day or so and make them over again after it dried up enough so he had enough dust to make them out of.
