Hi i am 27 weeks pregnant with my 2 nd baby. I had problems with high BP in my first pregnancy but they didnt find out till a few weeks before my baby was due. I was having symptoms before they found out i just didnt know the things i was feeling were problems, like rapid heartbeat and the blurred vision and things like that. But last night out of no where i started to feel very very hot, i was sweating, flushed and i got a headache that hit me real hard like it start off slow it was just there. I had a cool bath but i was hot as soon as i got out. I started to feel restless and muggy like i weighed a ton, so i went to bed. They baby moved alot until i fell asleep. This morning i feel yuck, just no energy and still warm. My head feels floaty lol and i still have a slight headache. IMy heartbeats real fast even if i just do something simple like sort out the washing. Is this a sign of my BP being high?

Being hot and flushed is not a sign of high blood pressure, but the headaches could be. Sounds to me though more like you are just coming down with a cold or the flu or something.

But always call your doctor if you have questions, and let them decide if you need to be seen in the clinic or at the hospital.

Blood pressure measurements don't count for anything if you've been walking around. Ideally, you should be sitting down for at least 5 minutes or so. Blood pressure also can vary during the day, so it's best to get measurements from similar times during the day. No caffeine in the morning either. These measurements should be repeated on a few separate occasions. Some people get "white coat hypertension" when they go to the doctor's office because they are nervous. Probably blood pressure medicines wouldn't kill you. But you don't necessarily need blood pressure medicines if your blood pressure is only high while active. When doctors study the effects of high blood pressure, they study the effects of people who are diagnosed with it as described above. You are probably at no higher cardiac risk from your blood pressure.

There are many signs of high bp and then sometimes none at all, that's why they call it the silent killer. With your history and pregnant GO SEE A PHYSICIAN! It could be anxiety, bp, hormone fluct. , diet, weight gain, diabetes and so, so, many things. If you want to be sure, stay calm and keep a good thought until you schedule yourself an appointment. Now, go to the doctor, OK.
Almost anything can be taken care of, the earlier the better. The worst thing that could happen is that you don't see a Dr and continue to worry and create more monsters. I hope you will do the right thing for yourself and baby. Be well, god bless.

Go to the doctor. Blood pressure needs to be VERY high before you start showing symptoms.

Ring your doctor, get an urgent appointment, or if you are going through midwife care, call your hospital or delivery centre and get seen ASAP. I am not even going to try and explain what could be happening as it all leads to you needing to be seen urgently. Please do not delay, symptoms like this should not be ignored, you may need close monitoring/medication/fetal monitoring etc etc.

Hope this helps a little. Best wishes

You need to get a home BP meter.

In addition, you should lay off salt--not all of it, just cut it down.

You need to call your dr. High BP can bring the baby early, and we don't want that to happen just yet.
