Im 37 weeks pregnant and a week ago my babies head was just starting to engage 5/5, for the last 3 days babies movements have decreased. They were really hurting up until this point cause he was a real wriggler but now all i get is soft little movements and only seem to get them 2/3 times a day. Once a babies head is engaged is it harder for them to move, is it normal for my baby to be slowing down now he has engaged?
I have a midwife appointmment tomorrow so of course i will ask her just wondered what you have been told. Will also find out how far he has moved down : )

is he really in trouble, but i have still felt him move??
please dont scare me are you being serious? could the cause really be that he has the cord around his neck? wouldn't he have stopped moving if he was in trouble?
He still gets hiccups 3 times a day and moves 2/3 times a day but just not as strong.

Movements do slow down belive me i'm mum to 3, think sometimes people on here get a kick out of scaring people to death, if your in the uk phone your on-call midwife if you dont have the number phone the labour ward and ask them, and see what they say the worst that could happen is that you will have to go in to be monitiored the babys heart beat will be measured over a period of time, it will give you reassurance, dont think your being a pain pestering them but it will def ease your mind.
good luck and i hope everything goes ok.

yes they do slow down. however if u feel less than 10 movements in a day u should inform yr midwife asap. sometimes they will tell u to write down each time u feel one.

yes, they slow down when they are getting ready to be born. all perfectly normal. had our baby four months ago and it's been amazing... you have lots to look forward to, but make sure you get as much sleep as you can now. and when the baby arrives, accept any help that is offered!

my sons movements slowed waaaay down when he was engaged.

they said it was because he was moving farther down that he couldn't roll anymore (like side to side) because his head was stuck basically.

good luck and congrats in advance!

You need to get medical help now. Baby has either got his cord around his neck or his placenta is calcifying and he's not getting enough blood. NO, it's not normal. Get medical help now.
