Hi. I just recently found out that I have endometriosis. My doctor is starting me on the Depo-Provera shot, on Monday. Does anyone have some info from personal experiances with this shot? Any advice? I've heard good things about this, and would like to know what you think. Thanks.

I was on the depo shot previously and gained weight, I dont know if it was caused by the shot or if it was caused by stress. I have also taken an equivelent pill and did not have any problems. The pros for the shot far outweighed not taking it so it was worth it.

Hey hun I have the same thing, I was on depo i gained weight from it, but it really helped with the pain. they is also another medication you can do to is lupon, it more stronger, i did not do bc he told me that it could make you feel like you are going though menapause. but there is somthing you can take to make the side effects to go away, but if i were you i would go with the depo and see how that goes, i had to get mine every 2months, that is how much pain i was in. good luck hun, i know what you are going though, sorry.

I would never recommend depo provera. The side affects are horrible IMO (I was on it).

Check out the reviews above as well as google depo provera lawsuit.

I would really consider other options.

I started taking this years ago because I kept forgetting to take the pill. I loved it because one side effect, for me, is no periods. I didnt put on weight with it either. Raved about it to all my female friends, 2 immediately started on it, one was fine and the other bled so much she had to have a stat dose of HRT to stop it.

Made me act crazy, gain weight and I hated it. But I cant take hormone based bc. It all makes me nutty. Try it but be aware of the side effects.
