I'm friends with the guy. I've known him since Kindergarten. I want to ask him out to the Christmas dance and it's either I am or my friends are. They even prewarned me that if I don't ask in a week they will. Wel, they told him that he has a secret admirer. He asked who and they told him me. He said he was pretty cool with that. So I'm thinking that it might be okay.
So can I, a girl, ask a guy out?

I am middle school. Why I'm asking is that me, my friends and others need to be courted at teh dance. it's apart of the association we are in. NJHS. That's why it's important to get him to go with me.

Of course you can. Some guys would rather get asked out anyway. Plus, it doesn't seem like he would say no or be uncomfortable with it. :]

it's illegal. you could do serious jail time. but seriously, didn't you answer your own question when you said, "They even prewarned me that if I don't ask in a week they will."?
but why not get him to ask you? you can tell him that by now he's heard you are his secret admirer and the Christmas dance is coming up soon, so if he needs advice on what to do about the situation, you're available for consultations.

Of course, there is nothing wrong with a girl asking a guy out, it’s not the 50s anymore, and plus if your dwelling on rather he'd say yes or no, don't, Life is about taking risk.

She can in this case! Most of the time I advise girls to let the guy come to them. It saves embarassment and you know if he is interested or not. In this case you did everything right. Now go and enjoy yourselves!
