No that is most peoples first mistake. While a throne may be pleasing on the eyes, there are a couple more things you'll need before you can start ordering people around. First of all, make sure your throne is raised off the ground, so that you are above eye level of most people even when sitting down. Although most people think a king's power comes from his throne, you'll also need a good crown (preferably with rubies or other coveted jewels in it) And you can't forget a cape. Now that you look the part, sit down in your throne and order around your servants. Don't be afraid to give them a good whack now and then with your ceptor, it's good for them. Hope this helps!

the bathroom IS the throne room. Sit on your throne and contemplate the mysteries of life as any king should! Feel the power of divine right course through your veins! Ignore the rest of the family, banging on the door of the bathroom for you to come out!

You really don't need to install a throne room in your house. You already have one. Some people refer to the toilet as their "throne". Most do a lot of thinking there, too.

I don't know about powerful, but you could "pass" a lot of laws and stuff. But if you "think" in there too long, beware of tennis elbow.
