This has happened to me numerous times with many different headphones I have bought:

Generally, after less than 6 months, the connection/sound in my left ear phases out. It's always the left headphone and I have never had a pair of headphones longer than 6 months because of this.

I keep my headphones in good condition and I don't bang them around or abuse them.

Does wrapping the headphones around the mp3 player affect the wiring and thus, the sound?

This is the only thing I have consistently done and I just realized that perhaps this might be the cause of my troubles.

I have spent like probably 200$ + on headphones. and I don't buy headphones cheaper than 10$. I've gone through Sony earbuds, Sony sport earclips, Koss earbuds, Phillips virtual surround sound earbuds, as well as a few others I can't remember right now and many manufacturer's headphones.

if you wrap them around too right it might pinch the wirings on the inside and cause them to break but i have notice that getting stuff into the headphones really hurt it. i use to listen to my ipod after getting out of the shower and because of it i think the water got in and messed it up. i also took it to the beach once and i think sand got in it too and i can still hear the sand inside.

it could also be the quality of your headphones. invest in some good ones and you might not have to change them for 2 years...the sony ones i have now have last me for a year and half already and it;s still going strong.

I do not think that wrapping the headphones around the mp3 player does anything. I have done it for years and mine are fine. Although you can damage your headphones sound if your song is played too loud. Some songs are louder than others and can mess them up. So be careful with the volume adjustment. =)

If your wires are thin, it could be the problem. The phones should be rewired with good wire if you're handy -- otherwise replace them. My eight dollar Sony headphones from Fry's have been very good and long lasting.

do no longer pay attention to music on a similar time as you run. It ruins the consequence. you're actually no longer at one with your self once you deliver a distraction. i'm specific it does reason subjects, because of the fact this is electronics with water.

if you have your volume all the way up it will short out because it is small and than they will heat up an than the wire will get really hot and the wire will snap
