I am asking on advice about names for a baby girl. Based on our own opinions and your opinions, we have narrowed it down to two names: Carmen and Ariel. These are the "traditional" ways of spelling the names. However I prefer Carmyn and my husband prefers Karmen. Also I like Arielle and my husband likes Ariel, could you please say which ones you like better?

I am here looking for middle names for both names. Could you please be honest and tell me which ones work for you the best and which ones you hate. If you'd like, can you explain too? Surname is Williams.

These are the middle name choices:
Ivy
Lelani
Danielle
Nalani
Sariah
Corrine
Raine
Sienna

I welcome suggestions always but please no Sarah, Rose, Brittany, Marie, Nicole, Elizabeth, or Lynn. I see alot of those since I work in the school system. Thanks alot

Carmyn and Arielle
Carmyn Danielle
Arielle Raine

By the way, great choices, I'd choose Arielle Raine though.

I love Carmen and Ariel!
I must say that for Carmen I prefer the traditional spelling, but if I had to pick between your husband's and your versions, then I like Carmyn better.
For Ariel, I like Arielle best because it is more feminine and Ariel is a boy's name in hebrew.

For the middle name, I like these options:

Arielle Sienna
Arielle Lelani
Arielle Nalani
Arielle Corrine
Arielle Raine
and
Carmen Lelani
Carmen Danielle
Carmen Raine
Carmen Sienna

Overall, I love Carmen Danielle and Arielle Raine.

If you are religious, pick Arielle which means lion of God, and if not, I love Carmen, which means a song.

I can't imagine spelling Carmen any way other than Carmen. I'm a huge fan of the Bizet opera and the tragic heroine of the same name. To me, Carmen is a fiery, fabulous name for a girl. Carmyn and Karmen just look off.

Ariel, on the other hand, I think can be elaborated to Arielle without losing anything. I still prefer Ariel, and if the choice is Karmen/Carmyn or Ariel/Arielle, I'd vote for Ariel, hands down.

How about:

Ariel Sienna
Carmen Sariah

Since your last name is fairly common, I think you're right to choose a less popular given name. Carmen Sariah and Ariel Sienna both have a nice balance of exotic and familiar, and I think they'd wear well from childhood into adult life.

Best wishes!

I like the traditional spelling of Carmen, although I'm not sure it sits well with your family name. Arielle is lovely and one we toyed with before choosing Tabitha. Ariel however, is a brand of washing powder in the UK (I am assuming you're not from these choices?) Both of those remind me of Disney's The Little Mermaid and I'm sure there will be lots of Sienna's in the school intakes at the time your daughter will be in class.

Carmen Raine would work
or Raine Lelani or Raine Sariah.

Arielle Lelani works well too.
... and the acronyms are fine too, I think: CRW, RLW, RSW, ALW.

I don't "hate" any of them, but always think its a shame when very well-known names like Carmen are played with.

Take a look at "I.N.C.H" via google - its the Institute for Naming Children Humanely. Originally done as a joke, it does have some sensible guidelines and pitfalls to avoid.
Just remember, whatever you choose, you are naming an adult-to-be and if they want to be taken seriously in life they need a good name. It seems to make a big difference.
All the best.

I think I prefer Carmen to Ariel, but both are pretty. I think that if you spell it Arielle then it will be pronounced Air-ee-ELLE instead of AIR-ee-ul, not sure if that's what you're trying for or not. If it is, I prefer Arielle to Ariel, and I prefer Carmyn to Karmen because I think the y makes it more feminine. I think the name Carmyn Raine is GORGEOUS, it's my first choice on your list. Arielle/Ariel Sienna is very pretty, it's my favorite middle name for Ariel. Danielle is also one of my favorite for both. I think all of these flow very well and are very balanced. I personally wouldn't choose Ariel Raine because Ariel from the little mermaid has to do with water and obviously so does rain, so I can imagine her possibly being mocked for that. But otherwise, all of the combinations are good! =) Good luck!

Carmyn (more feminine)

Ariel (this is how it's spelled in the Bible)

Carmyn Lelani Williams--beautiful
I love Raine, but don't think it works with either name because you need a three-syllable middle name. Two syl, three syl, two syl--sounds more melodic

Ariel Sariah Williams--lovely

Carmyn Corinne Williams goes quite well because of the common first letters.

Honestly, I like Ariel better.

Ariel Lelani, Ariel Nalani, Ariel Sariah, Ariel Sienna.

You've got lots of good choices for great sounding names. Now you need to check on the meanings of these names and make sure you like that, too.

Congratulations!!

Alright I like the spelling Ariel. Why make it longer if you don't have to. This is elegant, Like Elinor instead of Eleanor. For Carmen, I like it without a y. Never replace a letter with a y unless it is its original meaning; It will just look like you have trouble spelling...As for middle names...Didn't know the first one was a name at all. Danielle is awesome and unique but not weird. Again, can't comment on Nalani, cause I have never heard of it. Sariah is not good, how about Sari or Shari if you want a variation on Sara? Corrine is just alright, not special as a middle name. Raine is interesting and it seems like it would only really work as a middle name. However, not fond of it. Sienna, again, not a favorit name of mind, much like Corrine to me.

If I could make some more suggestions on Middle names... Etta, Annie or Anna, Betsy or Celine, Avalee or Yafa (means pretty)

I don't really care for Carmen, but I like Ariel/Arielle spelled both ways.

I think the only nm Ariel flows with at all is Sienna.

Lelani-Danielle-Nalani: These all have that 'L' repeat in Ariel and Williams.

Corrine-Raine-Sienna: All have the 'N' repeat with Carmen

Suggestions:

Arielle Dawn Williams
Carmen Sariah Williams
