Turn on a light in any area where it would be easy to catch the moth, turn out all the other sources of light. When the moth stops where he is reachable, cover with a towel or pillow case, grab the moth under the pillow case. Take it all outside and let him go. While farmers may not like some moths, most will not harm you in any way. Insect spray will harm you and your son.

I would personally worry more about my baby boy getting the insect spray into his mouth and getting sick then I would about him eating a moth. Moths and butterflies are not often toxic (a few are) but it is unlikely he would have a problem even if he swallowed the moth. Catching it in a cup, over which you quickly slip a lid, then putting it outside is a better idea. Moths and butterflies don't bite, sting, or otherwise do anything to defend themselves and can be picked up safely.

Insect spray would harm your baby.
Catch it in a jar and turn it loose outside. It's not hurting anybody.

Yes but sometimes it's more effective to throw the can at them
