Remember when we used to watch national geographic and see those men from African tribes with long stick going through their noses, a lot of loops in their ears, painted bodies and plates to stretch their lips, and also their women with hand crafted jewerly and only wearing clothes from waist down.....we used to think that was an expression of their primitive culture. Isn't it the same concept today in our modern society with the piercing, tatoos and the women showing bare skin in public places? Is our modern society going primitive?

I don't think tattoos and piercings are being primitive, but in a related sense modern society is being more primitive, or closer to our animal instincts in that we're building relationships more on our desires. Everything becomes sex, money, and more sex. "Love" doesn't mean deep love according to much of modern media, it's just lust. Similarly friendships are built due to money rather than the person. In that sense we are abandoning the higher reasoning that is supposedly human to become more animal-like. But this may just be our perception rather than something historically accurate.

Mature people don't scoff an the beliefs of others. Sad that you think this is an acceptable behavior. There are people who still worship the Greek gods, just as there are people who still follow the ancient Egyptian faith. Your ignorance of it does not make it any less true. Hit the search engine and do some studying. People who have faith live longer healtheir lives. Scientific fact. Some of the greatest scientific leaps have been made by deeply religious people. I said in a response yesterday that mathemeticians have the highest percentage of believers. Physicists are also quite often theologians.

It's only primitive if that's the only way you can be, in other words there is nothing inherently primitive about tattoos, piercing, or nudity, just as there is no inherent moral value to clothing.

I don't know if primitive is the right word. It's just a change in style.
