Well, consider this, if I picked 5 random friends that I know and I had to consider loaning money out to them all, there is about 1 or 2 that I would feel comfortable giving money.
In life we make only a mall handful of good friends who you know will stand by you and feel bad if they are in debt to you. Is this online friend so good that you know they will try their best to pay you back. Considering you have never met them and only know their online personality, I would strongly suggest no!

Nope, I dont loan money to "real life" friends....let alone online friends.
However, if someone is in need of a loan and banks wont do it, AND I think they will pay back I would reccomend they check out prosper.com

No...Not unless you know them personally.
When I lend anything to anyone, I am always aware that I may lose my things. Not because trust is the issue, but there could be some bad events that take place that'll ruin my things.
Don't lend money unless you trust them and know them personally, but even though, there's always a chance you won't get it back.

Nope! Reason being is because I dont know them; where they personally live so I cant kill them & take all their belongings if they dont pay me back; they could just take the money, switch screen names and I'd be the smuck

Don't loan money to family, friends or strangers....or else they will no longer be friends or strangers....but just your freeloading family.

never. However, if you want to give them a "gift", that's different. Just don't plan on ever getting it back.
