He has a PS3, he has a Wii, he has an Xbox 360, he has a bunch of American Eagle clothes, and I don't have a lot of money. But I still want to get him something nice. Do you people have an ideas?

We are both 21 and we have went to school together since 5th grade. We recently hooked up after seeing each other in a store and we just clicked. We only spoke a handfull of times in highschool but the night we saw each other in the store we talked for 7 hours. We have seen each other every day since. We have been seeing each other for a couple of weeks and when I ask what he wants for Christmas he says he doesn't care. But then he talks about the stuff he wants to get me and I feel bad. You see, he has a lot of money but I am just a struggling student hardly getting by. I guess I will have to get creative.

You should make something that's personal to you two - something he can't get in shops. Or get something that reminds you both of a special time you had or would remind you of a private joke.

This really isn't an answer but anything you give him as long as it is from the heart is great. It isn't about how much a gift costs it's about the thought that goes into picking it out. You are doing just that, thinking about your friend, you know what he likes. What ever you buy wrap it nicely and give him a nice card. A thoughtful gift will mean so much because it came from you.

Merry Christmas

Make him something with your own two hands. It doesn't have to cost a cent. Maybe make a collage of pictures you like out of magazines, or compose a few lines of verse, or create a sculpture out of found materials, (rocks, feathers, leaves, etc). Whatever you come up with it will be "one-of-a-kind;' something unavailable to anyone else anywhere, at any price. It will be special - and it will show that you care enough to spend some time and make some effort to do something unique - instead of buying some mass-produced item that anyone can get. If he is worth the effort, he will LOVE it - If he ridicules you, or doesn't appreciate it, dump him; he isn't worth another thought.

Good Luck,

Nick M.

gift certificates do always work but they arent really that personal... you know wut they say about guys & the way to their hearts... look for some extravagent brownie recipe... i saw one once in an old cookbook it was for a chocolate brownie with a vanilla peppermint frosting & little chopped peices of candy canes on top.... i dont have the exact recipe for them any more butive been making them in a little bit of an easier (slightly less homemade version) .. buy your favorite brownie mix ( betty crocker works well) , a can of vanilla frosting, a little bottle of peppermint extract & a box of candy canes (all at grocerie stores) .... make the brownies as directed & while they are baking put the frosting in a microwave safe bowl & heat only a few seconds at a time stirring in between until it is thin enough to be stirred really easily (but not completely melted & soupy) mix in a few drops of the peppermint (more depending on how much frosting or to taste) & after the brownies have cooled slightly but not completely pour it on top then add the candy cane crumbles, you can package it cute too with mini candy canes shaped like a heart holding on a card

you could also get him a movie or show he likes on dvd (it sounds like he likes home entertainment kinda things)& promise to watch it with him or one othe those gaming chairs that look kinda like rockers some have speakers by the haed peice that you can hook up to the tv if he doesnt have one already ... they sell them almost anywhere between walmart to bed bath & beyond to the sharper image...

You dont have to spend loads of money to show someone you care, get him something that only you and him would understand. Any in-jokes or little plans you have - get him something connected to that ie. may sound lame to you but me and an ex had a joke about wooden spoons, so I wrapped a wooden spoon and gave it to him - random but he loved it. Fair play if you get him some games or sommat but anyone could get him that. Be personal and romantic, something no one else will pick up on. He'll love it.

Money can't buy everything... you could make him a gift certificate saying "Good for 1 free kiss" or something like that. Or just tell him you love him and enjoy every moment you spend together. That should be a great present for him in itself!

well if you like this guy then you definatly want to get him something good. and guys want more than just video games. get him something that only the two of you will understand. get him a whole bunch of snack packs (just an example). or if all else fails then give him cash. and you could also ask him what he wants for christmas.

Everybody loves gift certificates/cards, it allows the person to get what they feel they need..

If he drives, get him a gift card for a gas station..
Or if games is his thing and it sounds like it is, then a gift card for a games store, or if music is his thing then a gift card for a music store...

A gift card to his favorite store - department store, computer store or even Home Depot.

My son's girlfriend made him Monopoly Board game. He really like that gift. And on their 6 month anniversary she framed a collage of picture of the two of them. He still has that one on his end table.

P.S. My son is 20
