is it expensive to fix a petrol pump and what sort of prices would you expect to pay?
also does anyone know anyone in the sheffield area of the uk who can do it for me lol

i mean the petrol pump on my car not the pump at a petrol station lol ya know the thing that pumps petrol to your engine

You mean the engine oil pump.

Depends on the car. For most of the cars, you will need to take the oil pan out. For some car, oil pan can slide out without any additional work. For others, you will have to move and lift the engine few inches up before you can slide the oil pan out.

Then you have to see how oil pump is driven. Some are driven by intermediate shaft, others are using a chain. Once driving force has been disconnected, it is just matter of removing few bolts and take the oil pump out.

If the engine does not need lifting, this can be done in 2 hours. if engine requires lifting, the job can take up to 5 hours (depends on what you would need to remove)

What did you do? Leave the nozzle in the filler tube and drive away or just back over the pump?
