its hard to tell without it in front of me but it sounds like it could be the crankshaft seal the one behind the flywheel is the most common it will cause this problem as will a cracked rubber intake boot. ? did it go to full throttle before the first carb adjustment if so it is in the carb settings generally are 1- 11/4 turns out as you probably know also a pinhole in the fuel line will lean out the engine causing the chain to spin at idle and die when accelerating

It sounds like the carburetor needs to be cleaned and rebuilt. Those little diaphram carbs need so love now and then to keep running right. Also if you get the low speed jet set to lean it will effect the transition between high and low speed. Turn the low speed jet out 1/4-1/2 turn and adjust the idle speed screw to compenstate. See it that takes the "bog" out of it.

Sounds like an air leak! Either between the carb/cylinder, or at the base of the cylinder "jug". Start the engine and spray some carb cleaner around these gaskets, if the saw runs differently or dies, there is your air leak.

Chain too tight. Clutch slipping, burned out. Brake is on.
