Now I cant get the wirless internet to work. I went to the Acer (Thats the computer I have) and tried all of the drivers for the wireless but I cant make it work. Any one have any Ideas?
I also found out that the computer is a eropean deal, I dont know how that came about as I bought it at Micro Center in Chicago, would that have anything to do with it?

Go to the wireless adapter's manufacturer website and download the firmware for that driver

Well i had this problem before, first do not listen to other people when they say Vista is a horrible OS and its a waste of time. trust me i am a early adopter, i had vista since it was in beta stage to now. its a very good OS i am still using it. no doubt xp is more stable and have less problems, but that is because xp is out now for 5 years. vista is only out since february and since then Microsoft had fix alot of bugs. so once you do a windows update when you are finish installing vista you should be fine.

now for the solution to the problem.

because you did a upgrade from xp to vista. xp old drivers are still in the pc and is having comflict with vista driver that is why the software is not working as it should. i fix this problem buy backing up my data and format the system and do a clean installation. when windows is finish installing no need to get wireless drivers because the wireless card driver is already built in vista.

at that point you can go to the manufacturer website and download all other drivers.
that will fix the problem 100% Guarantee.

there is no way to downgrade from vista to xp without formatting your system. so my advise will be to format the pc and load Windows Vista back into the system. and the wireless will start working as soon as the pc is turn on.

please note all data will be deleted when you do a format and its is always recommended when doing a transation to a total new OS always do a clean installation it causes less conflicts.

if you need additional help please feel free to contact me

A lot of people have reported problems and annoyances with Vista. I have it, too, and I've had printer problems with it. I guess you could downgrade to XP, but eventually it will become obsolete, just like Windows 98 did, and you won't be able to get any tech support. That probably won't happen for a few years yet, though. I wish I had XP, but I bought a new computer and it had Vista already installed. I had Windows 98 on the old one, so I had to bypass XP completely. That was a real culture shock! LOL!

Acer is the maker of the laptop, they only put the parts together.

Another company made the wireless card for it. you will have to find out what brand the wireless card is and model, then look for the driver at there website.

Check the Acer website to see what brand wireless card it lists in the tech specs, or call ACER tech support.

Oh please please PLEASE do not change from Windows Xp to Vista. It's a totally horrible program. Microsoft is now installing it in all of their computers. And it has so many faults. I almost bought an Acer, but I didn't know enough about them. Nope, pretty much all new computers will come with Vista. My hard drive died about a month ago, and I ran to Target and bought a Windows Home XP Edition disk, and then my dad gave me his hard drive. All is well. TRY to get XP.
