When I first got pregnant, I conceived twins and miscarried all of them and then the second time, I conceived triplets and miscarried all of them. I just miscarried twins at 6 weeks. I've just had my third miscarriage. The first pregnancy, I miscarried at 2 weeks. The second pregnancy, I miscarried at 14 weeks and the last miscarriage I miscarried at 6 weeks. I recently got food poisoning. Did that cause my third miscarriage? Is this recurrent miscarriage? If this is my third miscarriage, when should I get pregnant again?

Spacing and timing with each subsequent pregnancy could be a factor as you already suspect. Occasionally the uterine lining that has built up prior doesn't fulling deteriorate after the miscarriage occurs. This can make it difficult for future embryos to implant properly. Your doctor may suggest that you have your lining cleaned (scraped) before attempting another pregnancy.

Also, it is suggested that you wait 8 to 12 months after a miscarriage before trying for another baby. Your body, although not having carried the fetus to full-term, was still depleted of many nutrients during the early stages leaving it ill-equip to support another pregnancy so soon after-wards.

Daily caffeine intake that exceeds 200 milligrams (approximately that of a strong cup of coffee.) might also be a factor. There have been several studies and while debatable you are better off eliminating caffeine usage just in case.

High doses of vitamin A which has been known to cause miscarriage early in the first trimester. It is a fat soluble vitamin and is stored by the body. Levels can get progressively higher if taken daily. If you happen to be taking a multivitamin be sure and check the label. Look for one with limited amounts or in the form of beta-carotene.

Hope the info is of some help to you and that the next pregnancy is a SUCCESS!

Sorry to hear of your losses. I went through the same thing although I only had 2 miscarriages in a row with my 1st and 2nd pregnancy. The 1st one was at 9 weeks and the 2nd one was at 10 weeks. My doctor said that they wouldn't do any testing until I'd had a 3rd miscarriage. Thankfully I'm pregnant again 3rd time lucky and everything is going really well thank god! I would suggest going to your doctor and having some tests done to see if there is a reason that you are having recurrent miscarriages. I hope it all works out for you. Stay positive!

I know people who swear by it. I did not ever try it and have also had 2 miscarriages. This lady kept telling me... you need to take the baby aspirin that is what did it for me. She had a MC at 12 and 17 weeks. I wanted to just hug her when she told me. Both of mine were early before the heartbeat.

You should be under the doctor supervision now when trying to get pregnant. That way they can put you on required hormones and vitamins to help carry pregnancy to full term. The doctors will probably start you on pre-natals and progesterone prior to getting pregnant again, so when you do get pregnant, your body will be more prepared to handle the babies. Good luck.
