what is a good letter ending besides sincerely?

I've always preferred: Best regards or Kindest regards.

That totally depends on who you're writing to and if it's a business letter or a personal one. If you are writing a formal business letter I think 'sincerely' or 'yours truly' are the best but if it's a bit less formal you could use 'best regards' or simply, 'regards'.
