they beat the number 9 team in the country and hang with number 1 unc -ch so why will we not get ranked in basketball?

Dont complain to much. Its better to be under the radar than in the spotlight (Until that worthless BCS system comes to B Ball) because at the end of the season, BYU may just go into the tourney and show why they should have been in the spotlight before then. As of now, not as many teams will be preparing for them except the Mtn West teams, and to me that seems like a good edge to have. It bites not having the brag power right now, but right now is nothing compared to the now at the end of the season. Just take care of business each game and the rest will all come together.
Besides, imagine how the Yewts feel without Majerus? They truely suck now, that alone should make a cougar fan happy.

They have to beat another top team if they want to get ranked. Even if they aren't ranked, as long as they win their conference, they will make the NCAA Tournament.

Strength of schedule has always been their issue. They also do not get a lot of media attention.
