I haven't, but even good spellers have some word they misspell stupidly. (Mine was "business" which forever I spelled "buisness".)
Your story reminds me of my boyfriend, his little brother, and the name "Lincoln." His little Bro has dyslexia and a few years ago boyfriend took him to his educational specialist meeting. His little bro was spelling a sentence with Lincoln (spelling it Lincon) and the specialist corrected him. That's when my college grad, genius level IQ boyfriend said "um, but no, my brother is right - Lincoln doesn't have two L's." The educational specialist looked at him for a few seconds, then... gently, took out a 5 dollar bill and told him, unfortunately, that Lincoln DOES have 2 L's. My boyfriend was so stunned he called me to make sure the educational specialist wasn't just playing a joke!
The REALLY funny part is that my boyfriend is a history buff who loves reading books about presidents, can recite the list of all of them in order, and had JUST read a bio of Lincoln! But his whole life he spelled it wrong!
So don't feel stupid! (But don't do it again lol)
