Yes: we had occasion once to drive from jackson, tn., to johnson town (knockswille), tn., and we did a detour then! Elvis did a great service to music, as did a few others in their times (as some others are doing now in our times!), and so, we do remember Elvis at his best, forgetting whatever else we hear of him, now and then, here and there! The 'sound of music' drowns all else!

I've been there, but not inside. The day my family was going through memphis it was closed. But we did all get out and sign the wall by the gates and got pictures. Signing the wall seems to be quite popular. There are tons of names on it from everywhere imaginable. Someday I'd like to go back though and go inside.

Never been there but just finished watching GAC and there was a commercial on there with Dolly Parton and the King. I am going to try and convince my kids that it would be cool to go there this summer. Wish me luck. LOL.

i went a few years ago and enjoyed it. while it may not seem like it measures up to huge celebrity mansions these days in terms of size, once you get inside it is a treasure trove of the grooviest 70s stuff. shag carpet everywhere and lots of gold and patterns. fun stuff!

Yup and his house is so cool because it looks like a normal house inside, and not like some hollywood celebrity with expensive furniture.

my mom has gone a lot. she says that it is normal. if you go then you need to go to tupelo, Mississippi. that is where he was born at. that place i know about. i don't live that far from there. it is a small house. there is also a museum there. the town just remodeled the museum.
