PROBLEM: everytime i go to log into my yahoo email account it goes to a "page not found" page and i have no idea why. It works fine on my laptop (im using now). my older brother told me it might be my firewall settings but my home comp. is at a diff. house so its hard to explain. but also i downloaded limewire and i go to search for a song and it says theres a connection error when there really isnt. I am using a road runner cable for internet. I get about 100. Mbps. Is it my firewall or something else? thanks

p.s. it does this for every site i log into except for myspace.

It doesn't make much sense for myspace to login, but for no other site to work; it's possible it's a firewall problem, which is easy enough to test (just disable the firewall temporarily), but it's also possible the problem is with your browser cache. If that isn't emptied periodically, it can interfere with normal web browsing. On IE, you'd go to Tools, Internet Options, then in the section marked Temporary internet files (IE 6) or Browsing History (IE 7), hit delete - in IE 7, this will take you to a page with several options. I'd recommend hitting delete all, but you may want to just delete the temporary internet files.

I need a little more infomation. Which firewall are you using? Which web browser are you using? Are you using any other security software? Are you sure that your computer is connected to the Internet? When you start your web browser, does it display your homepage?

You haven't mentioned whether or not you have run any anti-spyware scans. That's the first thing I would do if things were acting a little crazy. You can't troubleshoot anything when spyware is present. Eliminate that possibility, then begin looking elsewhere.

Use protection,
your computer will thank you.
