There is a river that leads to one ocean. We choose when to float that river and when to walk the bank.

I don't believe in the concept of soul mates, it requires the belief in some higher authority or power. Also, the idea of predestination denotes that you don't have to take responsibility or initiative, esentially that you're a pawn. So no, I don't think there is predestination in meeting a "soul mate."

I don't know that answer for sure but I do know you can be predestined to some people, and it can be a huge mistake to think that because you KNOW you were predestined to meet them they must be your sole mate. This can be a huge mistake and lead to real bad consequences.
e-mail me for the whole story if you want....

i personaly do not believe in a soul mate. i think people like the idea because they believe they are going to meet that person of meets all their criteria, and that everything is going to work out flawless.
i do not believe this is so. i think all relationships are flawed, because we as people, are flawed. your mate will have qualities you will not like, and so the other way around. real relationships take work. some are easier than others. but unless you are perfect yourself, i wouldn't even get my hopes up.
just find someone you like, that you think is worth working for to keep and love. and if that person thinks and is willing to do the same thing, you will find that special person.

I dont believe so. I believe that everything happens for a reason, but that is mostly because I cant accept the possibility that I am living in total chaos.
There may be only one Mr. Right in the world, but there are a thousand others that'll do.

I like Sylvia Browne's take on it. Before you're born, you sit in a group and decide key points in your future. You don't specify every little detail, the rest is up to "you". If you really want to meet a specific person (rare), you'd arrange it together before you go.
So yes, but not in the normal sense of the word :)

I don't believe so. I am a Christian and believe that God directs my life, but I don't think there is any destiny involved in the person we will meet some day. There are people out there with whom we have the possibility of making a good life-long relationship, who share our values and interests. When we meet one of these people, it will be up to us to develop that relationship and make it last.

I think the universe gives us exactly what we need, at the exact moment we need it. I think that we should focus on finding ourselves first, and give generously to the world. Then sooner or later, we'll find love.
